In the spirit of strengthening their long-standing partnership, Europe and India are set to 'intensify' their collaborative efforts in space exploration. This renewed focus comes as both parties recognize the immense potential that lies at the intersection of their scientific expertise and technological resources. The European Space Agency (ESA) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), having recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding, have begun exploring opportunities for joint missions and technology sharing. One proposed collaboration involves ESA's ExoMars rover, which could benefit from ISRO's extensive experience in developing low-cost spacecraft. Meanwhile, ISRO is looking to leverage ESA's advanced technologies for its lunar exploration programme, Chandrayaan-3. These collaborative initiatives not only enhance the capabilities of each respective space agency but also pave the way for a more robust and internationally competitive space sector.
