During a routine health inspection, the Rock Hill Health Department discovered several concerns at a local grocery store. The handwashing station near the deli counter failed to meet sanitation standards, with soap and paper towels consistently out of stock. Inspectors also noted that raw meat was stored above ready-to-eat items in the cooler, potentially contaminating prepared foods. The store manager, upon being notified of these issues, immediately rectified the handwashing situation and rearranged the meat storage to ensure cross-contamination didn't occur. Though no reported cases of illness were linked to the grocery store at the time, the Health Department urged customers to use caution when eating prepared foods until these concerns had been fully addressed.
